What you'll be doing?

Supporting the business and our divisional offices, our Head Office functions cover all departments from our Executive Board through to our support functions such as Group Design and Technical, HR, Health and Safety, IT, Sales and Marketing, Commercial, Procurement, Group Finance, Corporate Affairs, as well as Legal and Company Secretariat. We also have a specialised function – Barratt Partnerships.
 
While the work varies from team to team, our key requirements don’t: you must be well organised, extremely helpful and resourceful, and able to use your initiative. You’ll understand that what you do is important, and impacts on your team, the department, and the wider business.
 
Supporting the Group Finance team (inclusive of Internal Audit & Group Tax) in fulfilling their responsibilities, contributing to the overall success of the business through the provision of efficient and effective administrative support.

You will be expected to:

  • Provide high level and comprehensive support to the Group Director of Finance
  • Work closely with the Group Director of Finance to ensure that tasks, such as, diary management, reports, incoming post and correspondence etc are dealt with efficiently
  • Arranging PDR Meetings with direct reports for full and half year
  • Support with new starter/leavers processes across the Group – level finance activities
  • Reconcile and manage expenses for the Group Director of Finance
  • Collate Group Finance Contractor and Temps information from Department Heads on a monthly basis for submission
  • Manage arrangements for meetings, refreshments, travel etc as required across Group Finance
  • Liaise with internal customers to ensure a smooth flow of information and work
  • Drive efficiency and effectiveness in the team's data management, filing and administration
  • Perform general administration tasks e.g. Long Service Awards, maintaining distribution lists, preparing Group Memo’s, manage and report quarterly on the Gifts and Hospitality register, maintaining organisation charts
  • Provide other appropriate ad hoc duties and administrative support for the Group Director of Finance, as and when required e.g. Group Finance Sharepoint and online file structure
  • Co-ordinate, organise and oversee Group Finance event planning and hospitality
  • Arrange Group Finance ¼ event inc facilitating engagement updates from sub-teams and collating action plans
  • Support direct reports with various ad hoc requests
  • Involvement in projects as and when required –1 day a week on specific projects to make efficiency and improvements across teams of ways of working
 

To be successful in the role, we are looking for: 
  • Experience of working in a secretarial/admin role
  • Intermediate to advanced level of proficiency with MS Office programs and a good standard of written English.
  • Ability to generate professional correspondence unaided
  • Self–disciplined, with demonstrably good time management skills and the ability to manage several priorities
  • Ability to multi-task, and work efficiently and accurately under pressure
  • Team player, supportive of colleagues and stakeholders
  • Professional and pleasant manner in dealing with internal and external customers
  • Excellent telephone and video conferencing skills
  • Discretion and confidentiality
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport at all levels
