What you'll be doing?

Reporting to the Group Partnerships Director you will contribute to the overall success of the Business through identifying   key partners to secure the purchase of homes in order to meet growth targets. You will play a key role through a range of methods, in building and maintaining these relationships in today’s competitive environment.
 
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Work with Group Partnerships Director and Regional leads on new business opportunities with Private Rented Sector (PRS) operators in conjunction
  • Support the preparation of Heads of Terms and Sale Agreements, ensuring Key Documents (Schedule of Accommodation, Redline Plans, Specification, Contract Sum Analysis) align with corporate objectives and legal compliance.
  • Ensure on-site Contract Compliance during delivery in-line with the Sale Agreement and Key Documents. Ensure key contract processes such as serving Notices and Handovers are understood by Division and Site Team. 
  • Monitor contract milestones and ensure timely execution of obligations such as handovers, snagging, and warranties. Manage risk exposure by identifying and mitigating contractual risks, including indemnities, liabilities, and delay penalties.
  • Develop standardised Key Documents and processes for PRS portfolio deals. Liaise with Group Functions (e.g. Commercial, Technical) to ensure PRS Portfolios comply with Group Standards and to respond to additional requests from PRS Operators.
  • Manage relationships and expand the base of PRS partners. Ensure the long-term success of this relationships to ensure repeat business.
  • Track and identify all relevant PRS opportunities throughout the business by liaising with Regional and Divisional teams. Ensure Regional Managing Directors & Regional Finance Directors are effectively briefed on PRS opportunities
  • Attend regular meetings with key project stakeholders both internal and external.
  • Draft status updates for ongoing projects for the Group Partnerships Director / Group Head of Finance to present either face to face or in Board reports for the Executive Committee and Senior Leaders.
  • Ensure provision of information is timely and accurate to support delivery of PRS.
  • Maintain contract records and audit trails in line with corporate governance and regulatory requirements.
  • With the Group Partnerships Director support Regional and Divisional teams to successful contract exchange – through negotiation of contracts to handover of the homes to PRS Partners.
  • Manage Data Rooms compiling relevant technical and legal information to enable contract progression. Support due diligence processes for institutional purchasers, including title reviews, planning documentation, and build specifications
  • Lead project team meetings with relevant Divisional teams e.g. Land, Technical, Commercial, Sales, Finance, Group Legal and external consultants to assist the delivery of PRS.
  • To ensure professionals/consultants are effectively briefed on company and client requirements.
  •  Promote and act in accordance with Group values, Partnerships Policy and Delegations of Authority, systems, policies and procedures.

To be successful in the role, we are looking for:
  • Enthusiastic, knowledgeable person familiar with all aspects of residential development.
  • Qualified to degree standard in a relevant subject, e.g. Planning, Property Surveying, Technical Engineering, and with membership of a Professional Institute.
  • Experience of working with site teams preferred but not essential. An understanding of construction sequencing and practical delivery considerations seen as advantageous.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound commercial awareness and ability to identify opportunities and present to the business.
  • Highly numerate, able to present complex financial information (including Excel,  development appraisals and cashflows) in a clear format with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Preferably experienced in financial modelling.
  • Ability to present effectively to all audience levels.
  • Able to work on own initiative, with the drive to take ownership of projects
  • A good collaborator, willing to work closely and communicate regularly with colleagues.
  • Articulate, clear and credible, and able to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to communicate with a wide range of people, engender rapport and trust, and develop and maintain key contacts.
  • Exceptional negotiating and influencing skills; a confident and professional networker.
  • An innovative thinker, with the drive to seek out and pursue potential development opportunities.
  • Strong administrative and IT skills are essential. Advanced user of excel and comfortable with large volumes of data handling.
  •  A driving licence is required with occasional regional and national travel expected as part of the job.
