What you'll be doing?

Reporting to the Technical Director, you will work as part of a wider Building Safety team to co-ordinate, research and manage the investigation and remediation of existing Multi occupancy High Rise buildings

You will be expected to:

  • Collate information on historical sites, including drawings, specifications, approvals, certificates and reports.
  • Record and store information in a sensitive and accurate way to ensure retrieval.
  • Brief and manage external consultants in the production of fire engineering reports, risk assessments etc
  • Review and report on contents of fire reports received by external consultants to Building Safety Unit.
  • Work with Technical Team to update databases for historical sites.
  • Attend meetings and actively participate in information exchange, ideas and resolutions to issues arising.
  • Engage with third parties on related matters.
  • Be instrumental in the production of reports to enable a remediation decision to be taken.
  • Obtain Technical Drawings and documentation to enable efficient review of buildings.
  • Brief, manage and drive the external consultants in the preparation and issue of reports to an agreed programme, fee and scope.
  • Work with commercial team to ensure most cost effective remediation solution is achieved.
  • Oversee the NHBC/Building Regulations applications to approval where works are required.
  • Monitor and control the Professional Fees budget and update fee reports on monthly basis.
  • Attend site progress meetings and carry out site inspection where applicable.
  • Attend meetings at various stages of remediation project.
  • General liaison and coordination between other parties, both internal and external.
  • Respond to site queries and resolve Technical/Construction issues.
  • Issue drawings and information for construction purposes where remediation is required.

To be successful in the role, we are looking for:
  • Qualification in an Architectural or Construction related degree level or HNC/HND in a built environment subject with relevant experience.
  • Good technical knowledge of high rise apartment construction.
  • A working knowledge of Building Regulations, NHBC, Party Wall Awards and associated legislation connected with the construction industry.
  • The ability to get on with people together with communication, meeting and management skills essential in dealing with multi-discipline teams.
  • The ability to recognise problems and deal with them in a speedy and effective manner.
