What you'll be doing?
Supporting the business and our divisional offices, our Head Office functions cover all departments from our Executive Board through to our support functions such as Group Design and Technical, HR, Health and Safety, IT, Sales and Marketing, Commercial, Procurement, Group Finance, Corporate Affairs, as well as Legal and Company Secretariat. We also have a specialised function – Barratt Partnerships.
While the work varies from team to team, our key requirements don’t: you must be well organised, extremely helpful and resourceful, and able to use your initiative. You’ll understand that what you do is important, and impacts on your team, the department, and the wider business.
We are offering a fantastic opportunity for someone to join the Group Finance team based in the Group Support Centre. Reporting to the COINS Design & Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for delivering high quality projects across the COINS application, and resolve technical issues in relation to the live environment.
You will:
  • Deliver projects relating to the COINS application.
  • Be responsible for understanding and translating the finance requirements of the business and provide advice and challenge in order to be able to deliver high quality solutions.
  • Manage the production of technical design specifications and documentation.
  • Manage complex processes for both new and existing functionality.
  • Manage and communicate risk assessments pertaining to new functionality and enhancements.
  • Evaluate testing requirements and ensure that testing is executed to the required standard.
  • Manage and communicate project risks.
  • Produce technical administrative documentation.
  • Ensure industry best practices are adopted and adhered to when designing and implementing new functionality to the business.
  • Work with the software provider to achieve issue resolution.
  • Ensure that system integrity is maintained with the delivery of new projects and issue resolutions.
  • Provide escalation support to the Group Finance Support Team as required
What you'll need?
To be successful in the role, we are looking for:
  • Experience in delivering system changes in relation to the COINS application
  • High level understanding of the COINS application
  • A good understanding of accounting principles and procedures
  • Ability to work dynamically in both team and independent environments is necessary
  • Strong understanding of IT terms and concepts is required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the business
  • A pragmatic problem solver
