What you'll be doing?
Supporting the business and our divisional offices, our Head Office functions cover all departments from our Executive Board through to our support functions such as Group Design and Technical, HR, Health and Safety, IT, Sales and Marketing, Commercial, Procurement, Group Finance, Corporate Affairs, as well as Legal and Company Secretariat. We also have a specialised function – Barratt Partnerships.
 
While the work varies from team to team, our key requirements don’t: you must be well organised, extremely helpful and resourceful, and able to use your initiative. You’ll understand that what you do is important, and impacts on your team, the department, and the wider business.
 
Reporting into the Group Senior Architectural Technician, as Architectural Technician/Technologist, you will produce all standard Group Housetype Working Drawings and Standard Details from Design drawings. Collating Technical Specifications, liaising with Group Suppliers and supporting Operational Divisions.
 
You will be expected to:
 
  • Provide knowledge of Building construction and technology to the team
  •  Produce Working and Detailed drawings of new Housetypes
  • Work to be a genuine interpretation of the designs, to be technically accurate, clear, in full accordance with all Technical Regulations and to a programme
  • Update/Revise existing Housetypes as required
  • Liaise and provide back up to Divisions providing them with information and dealing with any queries that arise from the office and/or sites
  • Encourage feedback on Housetypes from Divisions
  • Check and monitor all 3rd Party information relating to Housetypes
  • Communicate with Regions/ Divisions both at office and site level
  • Communicate with all Regulatory bodies required
What you'll need?
To be successful in the role, we are looking for:
 
  • Qualified as an Architectural Technician/Technologist to HNC level as a minimum
  •  Autodesk Revit experience essential
  •  Good organisation and Task Management skills.
  • A good technical knowledge of current regulations and associated legislation.
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • An eloquent communicator interfacing with Divisional teams, sites and regulatory bodies.
  • Aware of costs and customer focused.
  • Able to work well in a team
