Oregon Timber Frame (OTF), one of the UK’s largest timber frame manufacturers are a division of Barratt Developments PLC, Britain’s largest housebuilder, following an acquisition in 2019.

Job Purpose:

  • To co-ordinate and order cranes for site and organise all other associated paperwork to ensure we have a fully managed process for crane erection of structural timber frames on each site.
  • To co-ordinate site operations to ensure sites are ready to receive crane and timber frame to programme.
  • Are the main liaison between crane companies and Oregon site teams.
  • To undertake any other duties and responsibilities that are within the scope and job purpose as requested by your Line Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

Liaise with Factory Production Controllers to:

  • Agree delivery plans.
  • Co-ordinate the delivery of the kit with site teams and erectors.
  • Communicate delivery plans to site teams and erectors.

Lift Plans

  • Create Lift Plan documentation.
  • Issue to our site teams for completion.

Cranes

  • Maintain Crane Master Log.
  • Order and amend cranes in agreement with Production Control and site teams ensuring dates and crane sizes are correct.
  • Ensure any Site Instructions for larger cranes are agreed by Client and paperwork approved by Commercial Department
  • Issue crane sheet.

Sign Offs

  • Send daily update to our site teams showing outstanding check sheets.
  • Monitor scaffold email and update Crane Master Log timeously.
  • Ensure scaffold sign-off checks are received on time and chase missing items prior to deadline.
  • Liaise with Production Control to ensure they have up to date information at all times.
  • Attend regular Site Meetings to discuss program with Site Management Team.

Health and Safety

  • Work closely with our Health and Safety team/sub-contractors to ensure all works are getting carried out safely and according to RAMS.

Weather

  • Check weather reports at regular intervals for forthcoming kits and report findings.

Continuous Improvement

  • Work in quality and continuous improvement teams to identify and implement better kit delivery and erect processes.
What you'll need?
Key Personnel Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of computer usage in word and excel in particular.
  • Have good knowledge and hands-on experience of modern methods of construction in timber frame.
  • Committed with ability to demonstrate organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Personal drive with a “can do” attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to focus on ensuring total customer satisfaction.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience of working and a good understanding of crane operating practices and procedures.
  • A sound appreciation of Health & Safety practices on site.

Qualifications:

  • Crane Operations Certified to either Lift Supervisor and/or Appointed Person level
  • Valid CSCS card – professional level.
  • You must have a current driving licence and use of a personal car for work related usage. The car must be insured for business use.
