Supporting the business and our divisional offices, our Head Office functions cover all departments from our Executive Board through to our support functions such as Group Design and Technical, HR, Health and Safety, IT, Sales and Marketing, Commercial, Procurement, Group Finance, Corporate Affairs, as well as Legal and Company Secretariat. We also have a specialised function – Barratt Partnerships.

Reporting to the Group Business Change and Adoption Manager, you will lead and develop a team of Business System Training Managers to deliver sustainable training solutions to the operational business. You will be responsible to ensure the systems training team delivery to the agreed quality standards for all system training across the group. You will also drive continuous improvement based upon user feedback, business demand and emerging training strategies.
You will be responsible for the transition of training from Projects and Programmes into live BAU induction and refresher training. Working with Functional Directors and Heads of Departments to ensure key business functions have fit for purpose system training offerings that meet the ongoing requirements of business functions.
Your ultimate aim is to ensure that training solutions meet their objectives by increasing employee adoption and increasing technology literacy across the business by the delivery of systems training. Where appropriate this will also include establishing a network of super users in certain business functions.
You will be expected to:
- Manage the development of training strategies and materials while maintaining uniformly high standards in efforts to assess needs, develop, deliver and evaluate training.
- Develop strong relationships with senior stakeholders to foster commitment to the training strategy and the resources needed to sustain adoption.
- Work with the Deployment trainers to manage the transition from projects and programmes into BAU. Ensure the Business System training team have capacity and capability to support transitioned training.
- Lead the design and execution of training strategy, plan, and deliverables for the system, including coordination with heads of functions and external stakeholders as needed.
- On all training delivery agree the delivery method based upon complexity, user knowledge and business feedback to ensure the most effective delivery method it utilised.
- Design and deliver face-to-face training, self-directed learning, and train-the-trainer guidance for all system-related needs.
- Create and manage the over-arching training activity work plan that includes; resource scheduling, assignment of responsibilities, estimated level of effort for team members, dependencies, and deadlines.
- Provide supportive tools that enable skills and knowledge to be effectively absorbed and understood; training materials and user manuals, including but not limited to instructor guides, participant guides, and job aids
- Collaborate with Product Owners and Subject Matter Experts on the creation of training materials, as well as planning for Instructor-Led employee training in the home and field office
- Regularly engage and develop Super Users who will provide day to day help on systems and support project deployments as part of their normal day to day role.
- Collaborate with the Group L&D design team on creation of digital content and utilisation of the Online Learning Platform
- Create and deliver training content with a high level of cultural competency for non-tech speaking audiences
- Contribute to the expansion of system knowledge management system within the IT support ticketing system to incorporate training-related Q&A
- Facilitate training workshops, as needed
- Build rapport with employees to help increase system adoption and encourage feedback of potential improvements.
- Delivery of training as and when required during periods of resource challenges.
- Work with Functional Directors/ Head of Group Functions to deal with any under performance or lack of availability from Super Users communities.
- Where required the role will source appropriate external training providers to deliver specialised training requirements.
- Sit alongside existing Project deployment trainers to provide more flexibility for BAU Systems training and also to support project deployment or refresher training needs.
- Develop robust processes with IT support to ensure that there is a seamless transition of system changes to the operation through effective communication and training.
- Collaborate with the Group HR and the L&D function to provide a holistic induction plan for new starters.
- Form part of a centralised training support team who can provide coaching and advise to employees where needed on system usage.
- Accurately report on training KPIs and employee feedback for Induction training and technology updates.
