What you'll be doing?
Supporting the business and our divisional offices, our Head Office functions cover all departments from our Executive Board through to our support functions such as Group Design and Technical, HR, Health and Safety, IT, Sales and Marketing, Commercial, Procurement, Group Finance, Corporate Affairs, as well as Legal and Company Secretariat. We also have a specialised function – Barratt Partnerships.

We are offering a fantastic development opportunity for someone to join the COINS development function of the Group Finance Systems team based in the Group Support Centre. Reporting to the Senior COINS Design and Delivery Lead you will assist in the development and delivery of high quality projects across the COINS application. You will also take ownership for the resolution of technical issues in relation to the live environment. 
You will be responsible for:
  • Assisting in the understanding and documenting of the financial requirements or the change / issue.
  • Assisting in the development of technical solutions as per the business requirements
  • Assisting in the delivery of configuration and small changes
  • Assisting with technical administrative documentation
  • Assisting in the production and delivery of user training materials relating to new functionality. On larger projects work with the business change team in the production of these materials.
  • Assisting in the design of new test scripts ensuring quality of testing is maintained.  Scripts to cover off all impacted areas to ensure that risks are mitigated.
  • Execution of test scripts and escalation of issues. 
  • Ensuring that Jira is updated in a timely manner and with the required evidence.
  • Reporting on the status of relevant project tasks
  • Document systems processes and procedures. Create internal technical process documents for new systems
  • Ensuring business governance around security and change is maintained.
  • Troubleshooting escalated system support issues. Provide support / technical knowledge on systems and ensure this knowledge is transferred to the support team.
  • Effectively communicating with project team members and stakeholders.
What you'll need?
To be successful in the role, we are looking for:
  • COINS system experience would be an advantage
  • Experience within systems development environment.
  • Able to demonstrate a good understanding of finance. Part qualified or equivalent is an advantage.
  • Able to demonstrate understanding IT terms and concepts
  • Ability to work in both a team and independent environments

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced Excel skills desirable
