What you'll be doing?

Our Bedroom Furnishings division, BD Living provide furnishing solutions that will fit in with our customers’ homes perfectly. This team supply’s and fits storage and bedroom furniture, from cutting edge styles to contemporary classics. 

Reporting to the Operations Director to lead the Technical team and provide support to the Operations Director in driving standards, progressing projects and ensuring the team objectives are aligned with that of the business. 
You will be responsible for: 
  • Manage the Technical team effectively, to ensure that the department fully implement divisional and Group policies and procedures
  • Ensure the Technical team are well-directed with clear guidelines to their own job responsibilities, and provided with full support in achieving these
  • Oversee the integration of Business Central for the Technical department
  • Control budgets assigned to the Technical department
  • Set individual objectives, undertaking annual and interim PDR’s with the Technical Team Leader and Design Technicians
  • Ensure all tasks are processed in line with cut off deadlines for manufacture and internal SLAs
  • Manage the R&D of all new product, the design of furniture layouts and the creation of manufacture drawings, bill of materials and production orders with a fiscal awareness of project budgets and timelines. Ensuring all new products created have been costed and signed off in line with company procedures.
  • Provide support and advice for the department, including dealing directly with customers when appropriate, and ensure excellent customer service is delivered and maintained to all customers' in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Lead key projects, providing progress reports to the Operations Director
  • Provide content for business communications such as the newsletter and board meetings
  • Manage approvals such as costings, drawing sign offs and purchase orders
  • Perform ad-hoc duties as required
What you'll need?
To be successful in the role, we are looking for: 
  • Experience in ERP and CPQ solutions required
  • Adept in problem solving
  • Self-motivated with the ability to quickly analyse and co-ordinate/lead a team effectively
  • Performance and results driven
