What you'll be doing?
Supporting the business and our divisional offices, our Head Office functions cover all departments from our Executive Board through to our support functions such as Group Design and Technical, HR, Health and Safety, IT, Sales and Marketing, Commercial, Procurement, Group Finance, Corporate Affairs, as well as Legal and Company Secretariat. We also have a specialised function – Barratt Partnerships.

We are offering a fantastic opportunity for someone to join the support function of the Finance Systems Design and Delivery team to assist in providing the necessary testing required for the delivery of high quality projects across financial applications.
The ideal candidate will ideally have some experience within a finance or support function environment, however candidates who are looking to develop a career within a finance systems support function will also be considered.
Reporting to the TM1 Lead Developer, you will be expected to: 
  • Perform functional, system, integration, regression, performance, exploratory, migration and UAT testing
  • Execute tests scripts and producing detailed documentation of results
  • Work with colleagues in business departments and other regions to develop test plans, organising testing, and collating results to feed back to technical teams
  • Define metrics for measuring the performance and efficiency of the function and reporting against those metrics on a regular basis, reviewing and redefining metrics as efficiency improves
  • Document detailed defect reports, with full replication steps using our issues tracking management tool (Jira).
  • Raise defects using JIRA and tracking through to closure.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to colleagues on the status of assigned tasks making sure they are consulted where appropriate and issues escalated.
  • Liaise with business and systems team to agree on test coverage and requirements.
  • Present test results to the business and stakeholders for approval.
What you'll need?
To be successful in the role, we are looking for:
  • Experience of manual testing, especially on TM1, Excel or Visual Basic is preferred
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle and software testing lifecycle preferred
  • Experience of working within finance systems preferred
  • Excellent writing and documenting skills
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Some one who is qualified to degree level (or experienced professional)
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Self-organising and effective time management
  • Someone who is able to work productively, both autonomously and as part of a dynamic team
  • Professional, precise communication skills
  • A Systematic approach to problem solving and workload
